Compassionate and personalized care can make a lasting difference for a young person who is in crisis. At Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, we provide clinically excellent inpatient care for adolescents who are struggling with a range of mental health concerns.
About Our Adolescent Inpatient Program
Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, features a premier adolescent inpatient program. In our program, young people ages 13-17 can receive compassionate, high-quality care for a variety of mental health concerns, including:
- Mood disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Severe disruptive behavior
- Suicidal ideation
To receive care in our adolescent inpatient program, a young person must have a primary diagnosis of a psychiatric disorder. However, we can also accommodate patients who have certain co-occurring conditions, including substance use disorders. We base all admissions decisions on a comprehensive assessment of the potential patient’s needs, which helps ensure that we can provide effective care for each person who participates in our programming.
At Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, inpatient care is a focused short-term experience that provides the building blocks for ongoing healing. As part of our crisis stabilization services, adolescents can acquire coping skills and rebuild a sense of safety that can help them transition home or to a lower level of care as seamlessly as possible. Adolescents usually remain in our inpatient program for about four to seven days depending on their needs and progress in our program.

Our adolescent inpatient program may be an ideal place for your child to build resilience, rediscover hope, and foster long-term healing.

- Our personalized and detailed approach to aftercare planning
At our hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, we aim to provide excellent care in an environment that supports collaboration, growth, and learning. To promote the best possible outcomes, we welcome family participation in the treatment process whenever it is appropriate. Additionally, with appropriate permission, we can work with referral sources to help ensure a young person’s smooth and successful transition to and out of our program.
Our extensive discharge planning services begin the moment an adolescent enters our inpatient program. Involving a multidisciplinary team, our discharge planning process welcomes input from the patient and their family and considers the young person’s progress over the course of their stay. We base our aftercare recommendations on each adolescent’s unique needs, goals, and support system.
Admissions Process
To begin the admissions process, we encourage you to contact our friendly intake team to schedule a no-cost assessment for your child. To help your loved one access care as quickly as possible, we offer assessments 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
During the assessment process, we will gather information about the adolescent’s behavioral health history and current needs. We will also provide additional details about our services along with a recommendation for the right level of care for your child. Our goal is to help you find appropriate care, so if our hospital is not a fit, we will recommend another qualified facility.
After we admit a young person to our adolescent inpatient program, we will help them make a smooth transition to the unit. During an adolescent’s stay, our caring and engaged staff members will endeavor to monitor the young person’s progress, support their needs, and help them build a foundation for a healthier life.
